The Cottonwood Poplar is a fast growing, broad headed tree reaching a height of 20 metres. Grey trunk and decorative, textured bark, contrasts with its shiny, broad heart shaped green leaves.

COMMENTS
Popular urban tree, suitable for large gardens or parks. Often used as wind breaks. Tolerant to most soil types, air pollution and coastal conditions. Plant in well drained soil in full sun. Can have an invasive root system.
TREE CARE
Plant in a well drained and well worked soil. Take care to plant the bud union above the soil level. Water in well and keep soil moist until tree is established. Fertilize when planting and again after new growth appears. Prune tree when planting to encourage new growth.
