Japanese Crab Apple

DESCRIPTION:
A small rounded tree, with long semi-pendulous branches. The single flowers start as bright crimson pink buds, opening to soft pink and white. The stamens are a contrasting light yellow. These beautiful flowers are produced in abundance, covering the graceful branches. A very attractive tree when in full bloom. Green foliage changing to golden in Autumn.

Crimson pink buds opening to pale pink and fade to white single blossom with a faint perfume, the stamens are a contrasting light yellow. Flowers in mid Spring.

COMMENTS:
This variety is known more for flowering than fruiting, as the fruit it will produce is only small. Suitable for most gardens.

TREE CARE:
Plant in full sun in a well drained and well worked soil. Take care to plant the bud union above the soil level. Water in well and keep soil moist until tree is established. Fertilize when planting and again after new growth appears. Prune tree when planting to encourage new growth.
