Velvet Ash

FEATURES
This variety is known as the Velvet Ash. A medium sized hardy tree with a rounded shape and open canopy. The pinnate leaves are mid green turning yellow in Autumn. The leaves and shoots are covered in a grey, velvety down. The bark is grey/darkish brown becoming ridged and furrowed with age.

Upright, broad rounded crown.

FOLIAGE
Pinnate leaves are mid green turning yellow in Autumn.

FLOWERS
Insignificant flowers are produced in late Winter.

COMMENTS
Frost hardy, suitable to most climates, once established it is drought tolerant and also tolerant of pollution.

TREE CARE
Plant in a well drained and well worked soil. Take care to plant the bud union above the soil level. Water in well and keep soil moist until tree is established. Fertilize when planting and again after new growth appears. Prune tree when planting to encourage new growth.
