DESCRIPTION
Sweet Temptation™ Is one of the smallest fig tree varieties in Australia. Makes it ideal for smaller backyards and therefore it can be grown in pots or tubs. Skin colour is red to maroon with flesh colour being a brilliant shade of pink. Fruit has a sweet taste with low susceptibility to fruit splitting unlike most fig varieties. Grows to 3m x 3m.
MATURITY
Early Season and spread over a 4-6 week perod. Early harvested fruit is teardrop in shape. As harvest progresses, the fruit will fill out and become more round in shape.
SUGGESTED POLLINATORS
Self pollinating.
COMMENTS
As the variety has low vigour, trees should be fertilised regularly. Fruit can be eaten fresh either peeled or unpeeled, used in high flavoured jams and preserves or cooked for use in desserts. Good for tubs.
TREE CARE
Plant in a sunny position with well drained and well worked soil. Take care to plant the bud union above the soil level. Water in well and keep soil moist until tree is established. Fertilise when planting and again after new growth appears. Prune tree when planting to encourage new growth.
