Cornus florida Cherokee Chief

FEATURES
Cherokee Chief Dogwood produces large deep red flowers (bracts) in early spring. The new leaves are bronze-green, changing to dark green in summer. Excellent Autumn color of crimson. It is a small low-branched tree with horizontally spreading lines, and a layered effect, usually with a flat topped crown.

Bronze-Green leaves change to dark green in Summer and crimson in Autumn.

FLOWERS
Large deep red flowers in early Spring.

COMMENTS
The Red Flowering Dogwood provides a stunning display of colour in both Spring and Autumn.

TREE CARE
Plant in a well drained and well worked soil. Take care to plant the bud union above the soil level. Water in well and keep soil moist until tree is established. Fertilize when planting and again after new growth appears. Prune tree when planting to encourage new growth.
